VR first person | Climbing Game | Project in development
In this project you play as a small insect like creature that lives in a world where you are physically as big as you feel mentally about yourself. A tiny creature climbs an enormous giant to figure out why he feels so small.
We are all climbing towards a goal, take your time and don't be afraid to fall.

Introduction
This project started as a way of getting myself back into creating independent productions, after two years of no success with finding a job in the creative industry after graduation. I started to doubt my own creativity.
I saw how friends and classmates started their careers and had (in my experience) more success than me.
But I also forgot the journey I took to reach this position, the years of studying, the successes I had with my work.

Unfortunately, we experience time in a linear flow and therefore we are not able to communicate into the past.
But we can communicate with people who may feel like they are lagging behind.

For my crime of being small is made for all the people who are in the beginning or the middle of their journey in life.

Story
This VR game takes place in a world in which your size is affected by your acceptance of self. Are you not happy with your current state of life, then you will shrink in size or stay at a certain size. If you feel good about yourself, you will grow and may stay at a certain size.
Failure = to shrink, achieve = to grow.
The size one can have is infinite in both directions.
The player plays as a small creature that wants to climb a giant, so it may reach the top and become bigger than the giant. The creature is done with being stepped on by these giants, and therefore it wants to grow above them.
The giant is the game world, and thus the player will be climbing on the giant.
The Game World is very big but as the player climbs the world will gradually shrink according to the distance travelled.
On first observation it would not be completely clear to the player but as the objects you are climbing on will become smaller and smaller.
Eventually, you may reach over to a new object previously too far away and too large for holding onto. As the leaves of a tree are first massive platforms in the distance, now they will fit in the palm of your hand.
Gradual growing and shrinking test.
It will become truly clear that you are growing when you fall, the world will grow again, the leaves that were once small are now massive again. Failure is now a reminder that the world is not made for the small, and you are not worthy of the top.
At some later point during the climb, you will fall and notice how you haven't shrunk. You don't have to start with the grass, you can directly go to the leaves. It is the same starting location as the layout is the same, but new opportunities appear. And now that you have grown, you can climb even further than previously available.
But with a bigger size new challenges appear, the leaves cannot hold your weight anymore and the trees groan as you hold them. a simple branch cannot hold you anymore, and you cannot rest as easy.
All sizes have their own benefits and obstacles, it will be a challenge for me to create interesting puzzles and level design according to these rules.
All the handholds will need multiple models, mini, small and big versions. The level design will have to be made with the idea of all the different size scenes. When you are small, the leaves will have to be like a ceiling in one part but a handhold in the other, a brick will be a wall in the beginning but only a pebble in the other.
A raindrop is a threat when you're small, but an annoyance when you are big.
